Going the extra mile… (part two)
Going the extra mile… (part two)
As summer draws to a close, so does our rigorous training program in preparation for the Extra Mile Black Forest Challenge, which Jasmin first spoke about in May. Since that time, myself, Annabel, Sarah and even the fitness-shy Jasmin, have been putting ourselves through our paces in preparation for the harsh contours and changeable climes of the Black Forest mountainous countryside.
Much planning has gone into our strategy for completing the charity cycle ride, with discussions taking place on a whole number issues that I didn’t even consider possible when first signing up to the challenge. Everything from what types of tyres, saddles and even underwear has been discussed by a team which is really motivated to succeed for both our chosen charities personal goals.
Getting involved in the Extra Mile Black Forest Challenge has been a really positive experience for all concerned and I highly recommend readers to take up similar challenges with work colleagues. Yes it has been tough physically and emotionally too with most of doubting ourselves from time to time, but it has been worth it for a variety of reasons. Firstly and most importantly, such events raise money for good causes and we have been touched by the generous support we have so far received as we are now so close to meeting our donation target.
As well as this the challenge has had other positive effects too. I think I vouch for all of us when I say that we feel in the best shape of our lives right now and I for one will continue training after the event has finished. We have also found that working closely on our cycling strategy has strengthened our working relationship too so our clients benefit as well.
With just a few days to go we are almost there with our donations and with your help we can cross the finish line. To support Great Ormond Street Hospital and other great causes please visit justgiving.com/DrKandthethreemarketeers
